Overview

Introducing closRE, a comprehensive platform for managing commercial real estate transactions. Designed for brokers, buyers, sellers, and lenders, it offers a unified experience across web and mobile devices. With features for tracking transaction progress, managing documents, and facilitating communication, closRE streamlines the complex process of commercial real estate transactions and enhances accessibility for all users.

My Role:

As the UX/UI Designer, I handled user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping and visual design.

The Problem

Commercial real estate transactions involve numerous documents, stakeholders, and data points. Brokers, buyers, and lenders often face challenges with data management, communication, and transaction tracking. The goal was to create a solution that provides real-time insights and facilitates seamless interactions among all parties involved.

Research and User Pain Points

Through user interviews and workflow observations, I identified key pain points:

  • Manual Data Entry Errors: Frequent mistakes due to manual form-filling resulted in costly delays.
  • Fragmented Communication: Miscommunication between stakeholders was common, as key information was scattered across emails and documents.
  • Limited Visibility: Users struggled to track transaction status in real time, leading to frustration and misalignment.
  • Inefficient Reporting: Existing tools required manual report creation, consuming valuable time and resulting in inconsistencies.

These three user roles—Broker, Lender, and Buyer—represent the primary stakeholders involved in commercial real estate transactions and will be the primary focus for phase 1 of the design and development. In order to better understand their specific needs, pain points, and motivations, and to guide the design and development of closRE, the following user personas were created.

Design Process

Wireframes and Prototypes: I created low-fidelity wireframes focusing on an activity feed, automated form filling, and a transaction tracking dashboard. User testing validated these concepts, emphasizing the need for clear navigation and real-time updates.

Visual Design: The final design prioritised simplicity and professionalism, featuring a neutral colour scheme with subtle accents of the brand's green and a clean, streamlined layout. The UI balanced functionality with minimal distractions, ensuring that key data remained easily accessible at all times.

Conclusion

closRE effectively addressed key pain points, offering a user-friendly and reliable platform for commercial real estate transactions. The product has received positive feedback during the beta testing phase, particularly for its automated processes and clear communication features. Ongoing user insights will inform future updates and improvements.
